Here’s a summary of recent activity from your local policing team: Vehicle theft PCSOs Rutherford and Dixon have been conducting extensive CCTV enquiries this last week with regards to the theft of a Black BMW from Elmdale Road, enquiries are still on going. If anyone has any footage from the 13th April between 0140hrs and 0530hrs please send it to consettbeatteams@durham.police.uk referencing: CRI00675534.CCTV Enquiries Officers have been conducting CCTV enquiries across Consett in relation to recent reports of: - Theft of motor vehicles - Criminal damage - Shoplifting offences - Anti-social behaviour Fire Related Incidents – Hownsgill Viaduct & Vehicle PCSOs Connah and Burnip, alongside PC Fallows and County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service, attended a number of fires set near Hownsgill Viaduct. A drone was deployed to assist in identifying the exact locations of each fire, helping crews respond quickly and effectively. PCSOs McKenna and Burnip assisted County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service after coming across a vehicle that had been deliberately set alight. Thankfully, the fire was extinguished before it could spread, and the vehicle was later recovered. Enquiries are on going. Road Traffic Collision – A693 PCSOs Walker and Burnip assisted with a road closure following a serious road traffic collision on the A693, ensuring the safety of all road users while emergency services dealt with the incident. Langley Park Incident PCSO Hart has been conducting CCTV enquiries for a fight which took place in Langley park, a male was arrested, interviewed and a file is to be compiled for the CPS. Arrest – Threats to Kill PC Guy and PC Fallows arrested a male after he made threats to kill. The matter is being dealt with accordingly. Arrest – Shoplifting Offences PC Curtis and PC Guy arrested a male who was wanted in connection with shoplifting offences. Supporting Vulnerable Residents PCSO Hart attended an address to complete a Herbert Protocol for a vulnerable male. PCSO Hart also conducted a welfare check on an elderly female.Anti-Social Driving – Consett Town Centre Officers have carried out patrols in Consett Town Centre following reports of vehicles being driven in an anti-social manner. Patrols will continue to address community concerns. These enquiries are ongoing as we work to identify those responsible and take appropriate action for each incident.
